So I'm working on my character Umbra.. for the small collab game I'm making with two others here on discord.

I'm writing a piece of dialog that I find rather amusing and wanted to share.


     thought "If earthly pleasures is what she's looking for, I could..."

    "I think to myself quickly, considering my words wisely."

    me "There's other...{w} better.{w} pleasures in this world."

    "I get a bit flustered with what I'm suggesting."

    "But if it will spare me then I will fuck this angel."

 Working on a Collaboration project with two friends in my spare time. 

This is what I've come up with so far.



Trust Me

So I've had some other game concepts I've been working on that I want to share some are of the nsfw/porny genre and some are just mystery/horror. But I'd like to gauge the interest in them. I plan on working on them after Love Lock. 

The first one I have been developing I call shishigami, It was the word-made up word lol that triggered the idea. I always struggled with the whole porn aspect of Love Lock as I found it limiting in regards to where I can share it. So Shishigami was conceptualized in the process. Later to be renamed as Trust Me.

The character art and GUI is mine but the rest is just placeholders I don't own them. I turned them into art pieces (backgrounds) to experiment and grew attached. I tried to reach out to the owners to see if I could use the pieces but I could't find them or didn't hear back. I was thinking I would create a 3D model of a abandoned school for this project.

**Concept of Trust me: 

A group of students in an exploring club go on a field trip to an abandoned school, for some Urban exploration, but when you enter the school 1 of the students gets possessed (1 of the nine each time you start a new game it will be a new student it's randomized) The car will get destroyed and that scream you hear in the video is cause one of the students found a dead body, the first dead body found will be the teacher.

They have to figure out who the killer is before he/she kills you.

The game starts off in a normal school visual novel setting though, you get to know people and accumulate affection points "dating" or whatever

This is for later in the game, the more someone likes you the more they will cooperate with you while you try to navigate this dire situation.**

Thinking this might be the itch banner (but with the finished background) Which means I got to make the background now which is hilarious cause I'm only making this logo right now so I can put it in the aracade background of Love Lock as a easter egg xD

Really thinking it's a toss up between these two. One is the latin symbol for "or" thats not commonly used anymore. 

From Google: But in the same period, many other abbreviations was frequently used in Latin. One of these was for another frequently used conjunction: “vel”, meaning “or”. Such abbreviations typically contained prominent letters of the word, including the initial one. For this word, however, the abbreviation unusually consisted only of the last letter, ‘l’, with a stroke across it: ‘ꝉ’.

This ⊕ which is a symbol in mathematics for or as well

Alternatively I could use the reversed caret ∨ but I kind of like how the other two have crosses in them.




Logo Design WIP

Been trying to come up with a logo/Icon game title logo thing. 

These are the options I've got so far. I'm pretty torn :S I'm still not sure if this is going to be final but I'm thinking 3rd from the top. 

Originally I had an inspiration in mind.

But I could not find a curly font I was satisfied with, I also really wanted a cross to be somewhere in the mix.

Thoughts

I created the background to the future game I am planning. 

It's going to be a story about a serial killer who creates snuff for his viewers but also feels like he's doing an act of god, cleaning up the filth. It was inspired by a scary ASMR and while listening to it I thought, o.o what if this was a game?! 

The character is yet to be developed but he will probably be a lot like Walter but much older, he'll most likely wear a butchers apron and a mask. This game won't feature any sexual activity, it'll more or less be like Strade in BTD. I haven't figured out what the gameplay is going to be like outside of the general concept, but I'll most likely incorporate a bunch of stuff from Love Lock into it like health bars and timers.

So not going to show you guys this, as its a teaser I want you to find in game 😈 But I can officially say that the stalker has a business card and you can acquire it. 😏

Update

It now tracks persistent data so we can check to make sure all content plays no matter how many times you replay the game :3! This is going to be so helpful!!!

Once again it only shows what I called the segment of writing and that doesn't really tell you how to get to said segments or not but it helps to let you know if you've viewed everything or not so I miiiight maybe keep this a permanent feature maybe. I'm not sure my label names are... not majestic XD embarrassed 



Update

Got a thing done with some help from a friend! 

So I briefly spoke about this in (Discord) for the Beta testers but what this is for is to help track what has and hasn't been seen for Game testing purposes. I want to find out if all of these values are eventually TRUE. Otherwise stats have to change. This is basically to check that the player is able to lose enough sanity to trigger certain content and that it's not completely blocked off cause you can't lose nearly that much with the choices available to trigger content, thus having content completely blocked off and inaccessible to the player despite being coded in. 

This is sadly not persistent data it only will show results for 1 play through, as soon as you start a new game it will all disappear.




Update

David's route has all endings capped now! 🥳 There's content missing in-between but otherwise all David's endings are written!!!! He ends with 53 endings. Kiiiiiiiind of makes me think I need to extend everyone else's route but... I'm going to silence that thought for now. >.>

So I guess Love Lock is officially a full length novel :open_mouth:

 It just occurred to me that I should outline what my goal is, so you can tell which graphs have succeeded in achieving the goal and which haven't. The red line is where I want all routes to hit.





Thoughts

Also good news, there is 3 endings left to write for David and then all creative writing is done for him! 🥳 Just wanted to celebrate that. Then it's on to the, SFX, Voice, Music, Special effects, sprites, and animation all need to be added in. 


Also I've got a better idea on Daniela and might be looking at giving her an extra day as well as a few more CG's. But that's last on my list.

Oh it's also just occurred to me, I haven't given you guys a word count in a while.

The game contains 21,778 dialogue blocks, containing 198,585 words and 991,769 characters, for an average of 9.1 words and 46 characters per block. The game contains 432 menus, 947 images, and 275 screens.

 So I counted up the current amount of CG's in Love Lock: there are 79(?). 

I was touching up David's route mostly this month and lolol I do not like him XD mostly cause he is the odd duck graphically, he's got more everything but the same amount of words. Mostly cause it's easy for his endings to pile up. Like: "Whoops you fell off a cliff", "Whoops you got too close to a bear". They're all very sudden which is why there's so many.

I made some charts to show the progress of each route, and David being the odd one out.





Art Upgrade

Found this last night. I didn't know I redid it, or well I forgot I redid it. I only found it cause I was searching for a psd in the photoshop menu instead of opening it from a folder so I got a glimpse of the art and was like "WHOA I don't remember redoing this?!" So yea, more upgraded art, that were all seeing for the first time, including me 😅


This must of been some time after I changed the artwork for Sebastian's face. as I'm seeing the new line work in this. Must of been shortly before I went on hiatus, as my memories really foggy around that time... :S
